- the mathematical chances

- the area surrounded by gaming
tables in the Casino.

Boss - the overseer

- when the blackjack dealer's
hand and the blackjack player's
hand are a tie.

- a casino employee pretending

Shoe
- the device that holds multiple
decks of cards of which the
dealer slides out cards one
at a time when dealing blackjack.

Soft
Hand - a hand, which
consists of an Ace. The Ace
can be counted as 1 or 11.

Split
- two cards of the same rank
that can be separated into
two separate hands, providing
you match your original bet.

Stand
- opposite of hit.
To not take any more cards
into your existing hand.

Stiff
Hand - the hand totals
of 12 through 16.

Surrender
- some Casino’s have a rule
that allows you to withdraw
your hand after the first
two cards if you don’t like
your chances of winning and
lose only half of your bet.

Tip
- a gratuity given to the
dealer.

Twenty-One
- any 3 or more playing cards
that have a collective total
of 21 (e.g. 6/8/7, 5/7/9,
3/4/5/6/3, etc.) Not
Blackjack, but 21.

- the minimum bet limit of
